Motor run capacitor

Long shot but does anyone know if a RP3 capacitor can be replaced with a RP2 ? the only difference is running hours apparently ??
I cant find a direct replacement.

ITALFARAD RP3 70uf is the knackered one and I can only find ITALFARAD RP2 70uf

The supplier cant help

The RP2 is 50 x 118mm
the RP3 is 60 x 122
both are available with the same three terminal options.
and as you say, the life expectancy is sightly different depending on voltage and climate.

I'd say the RP2 is a perfectly acceptable substitute.

That said, don't get too hung up on caps. Pretty well any start cap that will physically fit and +/- 20% will get you out of trouble and you won't notice the difference.

O.K great thanks - I cant seem to find the RP3 so will get the RP2 and pack it out in its holder.

I've got one looks summat like that, but completely missing its end cap after it sprayed its contents over the inner side panel of my lil' 150A MIG set I've had for donkey's ..... was giving it some bit of a work out at the time though ... huge cloud of steam/smoke/whatever and thought I'd burgered it ..... seemed to work fine, if not better after

Its off a Steam cleaner - idiot here left the thing on overnight .... it has a small leak from an o ring up on the réel and it must have kept firing up through the night due to this...... im hoping this is the only prob as it lights up and a relay clicks but thats it

Not ideal, but probably not a significant contribution either.
Probably would have failed in the next week regardless.
