yeh got one of them too - would slow a few tea leaves down:)(y)
also keep a new pick handle by the back door, with the price tag on it --- " only just bought it officer - haven't had time to put it in the tool shed yet - tag's still on it " :giggle:

and there are a few 24" bits of 33 x 4mm CHS about the place, to put my hand to ;) (used to have 'em all over my yard, in work (y) - was real dark there at 3 a.m.)

Apparently 1 in 5 house (including ours) in the UK are supplied water that will have come through aspesdos pipes...

Apparently no Ill affects have ever been discovered from the ingestion of asbestos.

I was told asbestos water pipes are very fragile if disturbed and have a tendency to crack along there length. Don't know how true it is as we have never had to get to close to one.

We were told on last couple of training courses that ingest asbestos can cause cancers?
Also told that vermiculite can contain asbestos so ALL vermiculite must be treated as such.

Personally think we are all pretty safe these days, most of what we see is AC which is the safest storm of the products, and we are all mostly smart enough to avoid treating that in a way that can release fibres. Lagging and insulation with asbestos however is the s**t that is more likely to kill you.

It’s everywhere. Did you know that Bakelite contained asbestos? Floor tiles of a certain age and possibly the glue that sticks them down, no end to it.

It would be easy to get over worried about it , but plenty of other things to loose sleep over .

The last course I did said no evidence had been found but Ive googled it and there are as many sources saying it can cause cancer as said it doesn't.

Worrying about it won't solve much at this point especially as they also still have plenty of lead pipes in use as well. Probably plenty of other more toxic things we haven't realized yet.
