Think it's probably going to have to be a ped roller for me for ease of self loading on trailers, plus prefer to use over a plate. Like the look of the Mortimer ones. Few and far between for used ones about though. £8k seems alot for something that might get used a few times a month at best.

my big dpu70-100 at 756kg has x3 or x4 times the compaction force of my 1600kg 800mm twin drum roller,

theyre different animals these wackers are for like roads and yards when you need to flatten the sphere of the earth a bit they aren't mixed bag things for tarmac etc like a ped roller

I don't use mine much but when I do its mega, our 200kg units get used a lot and im looking to add a 400kg that could get on a roller tailer behind 1 ton dumper for trail/footpath work

ped rollers are ok but not comparing like with like and any slopes etc ped's get interesting

its that guarantee of compaction under a slab or asphalt etc that you aren't going to get a call back worth it for me to be sure its never going to sink

few here like the dpu5454 be buying it if house wasn't sucking all funds out of me currently

Was going to say. At £4k I'd be down to M&M (local Wacker dealer) to pick one up this afternoon!
Sorry it was the DPU 2560 that was 4K ish IIRC. Only 170kg.

Wonder what the really big beastie costs new then ?

Not a bad buy for a preloved one at less than £3k then I guess? Mine has the remote receiver on it but no use for me .
mine does as well and I have the remote for it but only works when trio'd up as you need the others to steer with

Seen this one? No idea if genuine or available though.

I've got a 2540 that is being a pain to start sometimes it pulls flawlessly and others it pulls like it has no diesel and there's no white smoke from the exhaust. I've had the push stop to bits and I thought I'd found the problem as it was sticking but this morning it's back to not starting
