miserable bas**rdsUsing only the information provided in this thread, it took me 90 seconds to find the part number for the dipper cylinder.
If you want me to share, you can start with a groveling appology for your whiney "the world owes me" post.
Apparently JCB simply don't want you working on the cylinder as parts 10~17 are listed as non-sevicible. (no, it wouldn't stop me repairing it, but the dowel's main purpose seems to be to make life difficult).

The individual seals are listed as "None serviced part", there is a full kit listed.
There is no details on the dowel (Pt. 17), but working backwards, the same part number is used in a similar ram, but to lock the piston.
This seems a little contradictory as it's the seals (on a 3cx) that keep the dowel in place and not any spring like a roll pin.
"If" the (original) dowel is the same style as a 3cx, it's made of hardened steel with metric thread down the centre.

I don’t do an awful lot on JCB’s but when I do, their parts drawings sometimes leave a bit to be desired. It would be interesting to see a new no.17 before it’s fitted. Engineers do come up with some pretty dim ideas at times. 500-hr greasing intervals on bucket pins for one.I'm guessing you've seen more than your share of rams, so I'm reassured this is not common practice.
