Morning all.

I've managed to lose the only key for my 3CX, it's a 3rd gen (T reg / 1999).

Are these standard "one fits all" or do I need to change the whole ignition barrell?

Cheers.

Yes it should be just a standard key, I don't think the chipped keys came to later.

So far mine fits Boss FLT/Moffet FLT / WN wacker / Screener / Kubota Dumper / Case Wheel Digger and most surprisingly 55K worth of 24 plate WN Dual View Dumper!

No it was rounded rather than squared... but for £4 I'd of taken a punt!

It looked like these - https://sps-parts.co.uk/product/jcb-3cx-4cx-loader-backhoe-ignition-switch-keys/

I used google images and it took pages to find these ones... are these any different to the one you've linked from eBay?

When my 3CX was delivered, it had no key, but the seller had included a screwdriver, so starting was no problem.

I ordered two keys from china before realising the seller had included a new ignition switch - which had two keys.

She'd not had a decent sevice for a while, so I went over most things - including the hydraulic tank cap/breather - the new cap came with two keys.

The RH door lock was siezed - the replacement came with two keys.
The LH door handle was worn out - the replacement came with two keys.

Couple of years ago I changed the ignition on my honda engined dumper, a series of ordering mistakes meant I ended up with 3 new ignitions each with 2 keys. I then bought an MG5 mini crawler with 2 Chonda engines, each with 2 keys. Then I bought a honda engined chipper. With 2 keys. 😆 🤣 😂
