Get a little truck and do a bit of muck away / agg in for a fraction of the price of all that crap.
I know you need a restricted o and all that but ffs thats a lot of money and hassle to tow a little digger.
Due to the archaic rules probably less hassle to go fifth wheel setup. Not every has a yard and that's before a lot of people needing to do driving test for larger vehicles plus trailers.
I'm still cautious to them being legit to run without an o license of any form. Currently a couple of mini artics for sale for 20 and 25k both sprinters with trailers

Remind me... whats attracting people to the new gen cats apart from all the gadgets ?
Weve always had cat minis. Right from 2002. Never had any issues with any of them. I didn't buy a cat mini when they were wacker neuson machines as....basically it wasn't a cat and if I wanted WN I'd of bought one from WN.

The new machines feel robust and are nice to operate.

If you buy a cat badged Wacker you only get 1 door and instead an opening window- if it's the Wacker it's 2 doors and no windows to open at the sides. They're superb machines those wacker Cats, dad has a 2.4t and its a strong and smooth machine.
Contractor not far from Rory has gone Cat for much of their fleet- I bought one of my Taks of them, seem to like them but the 13 ton is only a year old and already gone back under warranty as the paint is falling off.

To be fair I had CAT wacker built 301.4 and it was a great little thing, bonus that I have finning less than 10 miles away rather than a random pop up wacker dealer - which is what they always seem to be!

I'm not pulling the wacker nueson diggers at all. I like them, good machines, infact I almost bought one last year.

It's just back then I didn't want to pay cat price for what wasn't a cat.

Bah ...its no good back tracking now - only special people in every sence own Wackers.
From what I've seen of the Wackers the bits that count are done really well. Some of the features on the smaller mini Wackers are a bit naff- almost a bit eastern bloc in feel but those models are at least 10 years old now so probably need a bit of updating anyway

Isn’t there O-Licence exemptions for recovery/distance from base? Not my area but think I recall reading something about it
Correct, tacho as well iirc. Of course if you have the police contract I believe you tend to get other "privileges"
