Look at the swb version. I don't think they would be as bad as you think. They are a lot lighter than a transit and our lwb ones withtool pod can carry 750kg with loads of tools. I think that was weighed with a beaver pack and wacker plate on as well as a set of chaper8 and the tool pod full. But can't remember exactly.

Lwb or short wheel base. I think alot of groundworks companies could realistically go for a flat bed rather than a tipper to save weight. Its rare for both the Isuzu tool pod trucks and transit twin cabs we run to be tipped.

I'd probably go tipper could pick up 3.5t of material with the trailer then which for the tanks is ideal. Still not sure what to do at mo, I've iveco still needs mot around 700 to get it through, clutch is slipping, socket for the hub around 130 so all of a sudden I'm into nearly 2k for a 55 plate van

Recently priced one up . Swb with full ally bed .
Just shy of 1.5t payload . Not bad
Pricewise gotta be one of cheapest truck out there now

Yeah there's a cpl about at 28k plus vat
Iveco is nearly 40 with less payload

My iveco tipper with tool pod, with 2 men and general hand tools weighs 3100kg.

I nearly bought one 4 years ago.. Test drove a new SWB manual and a 7.5t Auto. If my Dmax ever dies I might consider an Isuzu grafter SWB automatic (older one with 3500 trailer allowance) and a full set of AT tyres. The turning circle is amazing. Newer Autos dont have as much towing capacity. I think Auto might offset not having a low box, and duallys with AT Tyres might cope okay for what we do.

The turning circle is awesome and it pokes a trailer in places the Iveco couldn’t imagine.They really are built for purpose full on workhorses,you will never go for a nice relaxing drive in one as they are like a shrunk down ford cargo to drive,but I quite like that,They’re a proper little truck that actually needs driving,which I think is no bad thing!

Definitely, ideal as a to and from site truck.
Not a long drive vehicle but everything about them is meant for work. The double cab transits aren't half the vehicle for work but are a thousand times more comfortable

Yeah my mate has 1 and says same, but like you say I want it to work so not overly bothered about comfort too much

Their comfort reflects their use I think. I feel sorry for the blokes doing multi drop in them.

do it as well as you can,but learn to do it better
my old Iveco 7.5 was a comfy little truck for distance runs ... used to go London and back, no prob.s ... Leeds and back was a trek though

Most of ours is usually within an hour so not usually long trips
