Apparently Olympics is an absolute joke for the host nation. The cost far outweighs the benefit. Rome didn't want to host in the end- said they had enough tourism without the need for Olympics. Rio are still paying it back whilst much of the population live in squaler, they were sold the olympic dream with things likes new train lines etc- there was new train line but only kne that benefitted the Olympics nothing that was much use to the population by the time the Olympics had packed up and gone.
I think los Angeles are hosting 2028 but not sure after that- my bet would be Saudi involvement as they can actually afford to host it.
