Sounding like a grumpy old man !no longer BWW ... canal and river trust now .. been like it for years ... relies on volunteers to get anything done -- couldn't put volunteers anywhere near that and the paid engineers are probably all down the pub with their phones off
what few paid staff there are left have been treated like ****, so no good will and certainly wouldn't turn out, out of hours anymore
In Pam's day, you could get every man and his dog out at three in the morning for an emergency, in minutes ... they had a pride in what they did AND were appreciated
like the rest of the country f**ked / gone to the dogs
