They have come down from that now. 6mths ago they'd dropped to an advertised price of 16,750. Dare say you'd get a bit knocked off that now too.
Good to hear. Profiteering bastards! Bought mine just as it started going silly. Mine was 15k and it had just jumped from 14k 6 weeks before and was going up again..

This has got me thinking...

Does it still work without the wad of cash? 🤔
Bet they won't even want a wad of cash. Remember anything over a certain amount now government is notified 😡 if I remember correctly

Only if one notifies said gov 🧐😉
Had murder when I bought the Ranger wanted to know who and why. Told them none of their business if I wanted to blow my money on coke or anything else it is MY money.
Guy on phone didn't know what to do had to speak to supervisors I eventually relented and told them it was for a vehicle as we were handing the pub back in 1½ hrs.

I’m sure there was even a 5k limit on card transactions on the last car I got, remainder of balance had to be bank transfer!! Probably to save fees

When I hear all these prices for minis I think it's alot of money. Then I remembered it could be hell of a little worse. Could be buying a new car instead. Sister recently bought a Kia (sorento?) apparently new ones are £30k! What a complete and utter waste of money- will plummet like a stone- at least a digger can earn good money and still worth decent amount in 5 years time hopefully

Must be a Sportage. The Sorrento's are 40k+.
Every time I look at a new car I give up and bury my head in the sand.

On a slight tangent. Walking round the airshow today and there are front line aircraft still in service that are 70 years old. Plenty at 50 years old.
A digger 2.5t and up can get to 10,000hrs if maintained, Dodgy bit of maths would equate a car averaging 30mph over 10,000 hrs to be 3 hundred thousand miles.
So why if we can manage the above feats of engineering is the scrap yard full of <10 year old cars with <50,000 miles on the clock.
It wouldnt be such a grievance paying 40k for a car to last the next 30 years.

Yeah I always think that too. When you think about it a car has a pretty easy life- rolling along smooth bits of tarmac. A digger is basically abused and pushed to it's absolute limit much of the time well small ones are. I can only think that cars are capable of big mileage but sadly fall into the hands of idiots who don't know where the dipstick. Considering economy of scale though I don't consider new cars good value for money at all.
