every piece of lifting tackle I owned got done every 6 months religiously ... was a lot of gear and a full day's work for the guy who came to do it ... oddly enough I was talking to him when I was in Pontrilas last, with Russ.
Mercians who he'd worked for, for decades had been 'popped' and re-established under a new, but similar name with new, cheaper staff and he'd been left out in the cold ...
driving an FLT there, for virtually same money, with no stress/worries/responsibilities/trekking all over, with long days -- happy as Larry and still had all his tickets, etc.

I was just thinking about lifting accessories rather than machinery. I thought shackles strops and chains come under redu ed testing as well as people lifting devices

Not sure - all I know is that any gear we have that supports people must be inspected every 6 months (whatever it is), but lowering kit is 12 months (but we do it all every 6 months).

if lifting anything ....
should also be inspected before each use, by a competent person - (in the case of a crane's gear, that'd be the operator)
I always had FLTs and cranes done, same time - was easy enough with Dave the examiner on site ...
full safe load testing was 4 yearly for the cranes, but with a 6 monthly history made life simpler

Still have a short somewhere on the tracking Aiden which I will get looked at but everything else is good and atleast it can work

been pretty 'kin soggy here since about one .... 'sposed to stop by six, but as I can't see across the valley ATM, I doubt that very much
