Genuinely I think it depends who pulls you!I’m a bit behind on new rules. If my trailers have mesh sides and load below top am I okay or no?
No fun if i tell youWhere’s that?
Like I said a week ago mate was stopped with a net and told not suitable. I'll try find out again what they saidI havent seen the “new guidance” but i did see see comments on one of those police facebook pages where they said the load must be capable of being restrained if the vehicle or trailer was upside down.
How does that work for a tipper with an easy sheet or a high sided trailer?
Most of the pics i have seen of insecure loads were also overweight and totally insecure. I do wonder if this netting frenzy is some over enthusiastic enforcement of guidance that is not actually statute law.
I think its correct, thats its supposed to be a load rated sheet if its above the sides. I put a link up on here a while ago, I`ll see if I can find it again.I havent seen the “new guidance” but i did see see comments on one of those police facebook pages where they said the load must be capable of being restrained if the vehicle or trailer was upside down.

The sensible customer orders logs in summer!Front Pads and discs on the disco this morning, log delivery this afternoon![]()
A bit of spilt 803 on the road is the least of your worries in those circumstances anywayjoke ... not many restraints on ANY vehicle are capable of that
Exactly, would hazard a guess there are no tippers in the UK with a load rated sheet“Rated sheet” as is weight rated or what? Cause the roll over sheets are only sprung.. no way your keeping 20ton of sand in a topper when it’s on its side!!

Not seen that type, there is similar but it goes front to back on cables, with some of the hoops hooking in eye along the side, but would doubt it would hold much weight. There is a design of sheet the has a rail down each side of the body and the sheet pulls down this. Could easily be load rated but wouldn't last long around the average machine driver on site
I’d have it full of gravel in no timeThere is a design of sheet the has a rail down each side of the body and the sheet pulls down this. Could easily be load rated but wouldn't last long around the average machine driver on site
Surely it's easier to tip it the normal wayThis was one up near the clay quarry's roll over tarp sheet does s**t for roll overs
All sheets are just to stop dust and debris that could be blown out of the butts
