3.5t trailer help

pretty sure all the 'proper' RRs/Discos were 3.5t .. not sure about the original sports though ... as for the newer stuff -- I've given up trying to keep up with what is what - all badged RR as that on it's own sells them

I think he's referring to a few years where I believe when land rover where making vehicles rated to 3500kgs but only fitting 2700kg tow hitches.

If land rover have it as an option surely it must be type approved?

Id almost guarantee that's a global drawing to suit all markets , aus etc 2in receiver are standard . I've never seen that option on UK vehicles.

Yeah that's it. I couldn't remember extact details but I know there was some fuss over it.

That's the current situ in UK...
Class M needs Type approval ,class N1 (commercial pickups etc) don't.
Trust me I did a lot of research before I imported them and now be fitted by Ford at factory .

My data plate inside drivers door states car is good to tow 3500kg GTW.

Would that mean I'm good to go in any event?

Just to confuse matters we have drifted and now talking about the capacity of the actual tow hitch component rather than what the vehicle is rated for.

3230 max vehicle weight when loaded (gvw/mam/

6730-3230 = 3500 tow capacity

Number 1 is max front axle weight
Number 2 is max rear axle weight

Exactly that, so you'd be upset to get penalised for towing 3.5t with your genuine LR tow bar fitted.

Well, LR website is showing none in stock. Perhaps they never had them in UK then, just like some of you point out may be the case.

I was talking about the type of tow hitch.
The one in blue oval in the drawing isn't legal in UK on your car.

Damn, that would leave the only LR offering the electronically deployable option (also not in stock).

I can’t find an exact weight but I’m going to say 1500kg over!
* 4471kg PLUS the trailer…. And they smatter it all over Facebook
