Towable Loader/Telehandler recommendations?

Guys I'm after a bit of advice if anyone can help me. I'm looking for a small 3,500ton towable loader/telehandler for loading pallets (1 ton max). Fairly rough dirt/hard core terrain so would need decent tyres.

I work from 3 different loading sites hence the need for it to be towable.

Also, any suggestions in shropshire where I could lease/hire one from?

Cheers guys, Rich

A friend has a Gehl- not sure if it's still made or perhaps under another name . But very well built, weighs 2.8t and handles over a ton no bother.

The only thing I'm not overly keen on is it seems quite narrow even on the floation tyres but guess they all are to get in places...

Depending on which Manitou you are referring too, but their newer compact wheeled loaders are actually a re-branded Mecalac, lots of options on weight and capacity.

Quite possible the gehl is aswell then. Manitou bought gehl a few years ago. I presume for their skidsteers

I’ve got a schaeffer 2630, lifts a ton, travels off road and is towable but like all these things it takes a bit of skill to operate well. They are quite easily tipped if on rutted ground. Best thing would be a bobcat or something similar if it’s off road a lot.
We’re opposite end of the country so no use but we hire the little loader out at £500/wk as there’s not much else that does its job. Our 13m handler goes out much cheaper than it due to market forces. Buying would be best as resale is usually very good as not many about.

Moffett on a bespoke light weight trailer would be my choice if doing it on a regular basis.
I like this idea and after a good search it's going to be by far the most cost effective solution, has anyone ever moved a Moffett on a 3,500kg trailer before or suggestions for the best trailer type?

I’ve looked at it many times but not done it. Unless you are building a bespoke trailer I think a wide body tilt bed car transporter with a full width bed. Ifor CT177 from memory. Moffett is 2300 wide so would overhang. I would fit guide rails about 150mm high to make it easier and safer to load and unload. Lots of scope to get nose weight perfect by sliding the load carriage in and out.

Also would make sockets to drop the Jack legs into, and some bespoke tie down points in the right places so it’s a quick easy load/unload. Careful with the moffett weights as some heavier than others, extending forks/extending undercarriages add to the weight. Big tilt body trailer will have a lower payload than a plant trailer as well, so you will be right on the limit.

Good shout on the CT177, has unladen weight of 805kg & 2.3m wide. Moffett I was looking at is 2,200kg gw although unsure if that included the folks.. either way should all come in nicely under 3500kg
