Mixed bag today- started by testing out a new wax on a chopping board, (I woke up too early 
)then went and managed to salvage the topsoiling I did just before it lashed it down Tuesday/Wednesday. Unknown to me the customer had already ordered his turf so it had to be ready today.
Managed to get the mini tiller through it first thing yesterday, then the sun and a good rake has made at least 85% of it good to go and I think he'll get away with turfing the rest
Then I did a couple of mixes worth of slabs to give me a head start on Monday.
After that the fun stuff started - rejigged the shed to fit the 90 in, towed/pushed it in to place and then thought sod it, no time like the present, and whipped the engine/boxes out my Dad was working at the top of the field so I grabbed him for a few lifts/shoves.
Oh and I cut the hedge to keep a driveway mirror clear

Letting this place get some air ...talking to the old lass next door, they farmed till 2005 - this was the cow shed.
I will photo the the farmhouse they vacated in 2005 tomorrow - bit of an eye opener.

Start the extension of the pole shed put the auger on ready had to sort through the pile of elecy poles and strip the off insulators and nails

Royally pissed off the lads who recovered her, arguably they were being a little bit possessive but sadly now I doubt it'll ever run again

Little piddly stuff down here in Devon. 450mm trench across a back garden in 'Beeching Close' which was formerly a Junction. Think I was digging up some old Victorian railway yard or floor as lots of flat faced stonework coming up. Annoying when a 12" stone comes out of a 6" Trench. Sent the apprentice out on his own for the very first time (he is 3 years in and now 19) to finish off the making good. Seems to have filled his day productively and not broken anything so there is hope for him yet!

Access was through a garage with a 720mm door way with a rotten threshhold, so was a bit squeaky getting in there with E10. Still beats the shovel though!

Made a start on the bank holiday of getting the crash barrier up on the project. Site goes in next week so there will be a drop of about 2.6m which I’d rather protected. Auger saves some backache. Not put this stuff up before so took a minute to figure out the process. Last bit will go quicker. Learnt to work out setting the grade on the laser level as well so a productive afternoon for an amateur.
