They do feel solid, and stand up to the odd knocks etc. But the layout of the controls/switches etc is absolutely abysmal. I accidentally open the bonnet every time I get fuel, it’s impossible to know which heated seat you are turning on, the buttons around the radio/infotainment screen are nonsensical - it is as though they kept thinking of options to fit and then struggled to find space to put the switches.
I'd have bought one if new rok hadnt arrived but the Hilux is well outdated now. As much as I love their capability off-road after spending 2 weeks in one in NZ..it felt very dated
Hahaha I used to do that all the time, my bonnet lever has a lot more resistance so get so far before realising it’s the other one
On paper its only a little wider but in reality, mine is got to be 3-4" wider on each side. I use to be able to see the side of my tipper in the wing mirrors and the gh1054 the mud guards would stick out, on the new one I cant see the sides of the gh1054 mudguardsI had a drive in my mates brand new ranger on Tuesday and I've got to say I bloody love it. Powerful, comfy, roomy- as you'd expect given the size of it, although it really didn't feel too big on the road. Loads of toys if you like that sort of thing.
Massive improvement over my 21 plate ranger or his 21 hilux.

Is it still the same with commercials where you can get service done at Toyota and they give you a years warranty on vehicle less than 10 years and under 100k. Probably a lot not covered but always amazed they offered it
Yeah that’s what I did, even after I serviced it myself for afew years they still offered the warrenty with a service - only exception was anything found amiss in the first return service wasn’t covered(fair enough).
Navaras were/are my favourite - my last one was the new shape pre-adblue and it was the best truck I’ve had to date.Out of every truck I've had the hilux has never won a speed or comfort race but its win the reliability race hands down. I've had mk4 to mk8 hiluxs. Father had mk2 onwards.
I've had navaras d22 d40, rangers mk1,2 and 3, currently got a dmax still on fleet. Not had an l200 but I've mates with them.
Hilux is dependable, Yes others drive nicer but bar an issue with a mk5 hilux all the other manufactures have given grief. Currently the d max has electrical issues. Fortunately the disco4 saved the day.
One things for sure, you can't say I haven't physically tried other stuff out myself, so at least you get my honest answer.

....plus the stuff I've seen stock luxs do on AT tyres is impressiveToyota's thing has always been under powered motors, nice way to keep things reliable rather than trying to squeeze 205 ps or whatever the bhp figure is out of a 2.0 4 pot. The 2.8 Hilux lump is similar figures to ford's 2.0 but will last a lot longer and that's before the wet belt shits itself
