VAT registered?

Hello again

If I am looking to sell a 1.5 T mini digger , such as Kubota U17-3a or Bobcat E19, would it put you off it it was plus vat?

I been offered a “no vat“ E19. Is that an advantage if I come to trade it on?
How much of the market for used mini diggers is vat registered?
Are most owner operators vat registered?

all market intelligence welcome?

I’d say it’s rarer to find someone selling without the Vat. As someone who isn’t vat registered it means paying an extra 20% for no gain. Edit: may gain when selling on if no vat to add!

I like cake
you do get a gain to the next guy who isnt vat registered too

aka i sell a machine 10k plus vat
somebody sells a machine for 11k no vat.....

i think you do get some money back even if you pay the vat in its residual

It has a slight premium to the right person, but not as much as people selling them seem to think.

The market is down currently. What’s the age, hours and condition? And what are they asking for it?

December 20. 1950 Hrs. long dipper arm. Hydraulic hitch. And various nice to have non-essential thing, like sprung seat and keypad start. Very tidy. Wants close to £16k . I’m reckoning £15k more like it. Lloyd have 2021 e19. Long arm 420 hours £15.5 +vat before haggling. Both with cab.

I’d say closer to 14k. The Lloyds machine is a quarter of the hours and newer!

Bugs me seeing adverts for ‘no vat’ but they are the same price as the inc vat machines & trucks but it just means you can’t claim it back 😂
no vat should = 20% cheaper by rights or it’s just a disadvantage!

It’s also a pain the other way if it’s listed as “x” with no mention of vat, then when you turn up to pay it’s 20% dearer 👀🤣
