Hitachi servicing availability

I’ve been giving serious thought to a new Hitachi ZX 19U 6Y, as they are on a good deal at the moment. The seller would be Hitachi UK, rather than a local dealer. I prefer to buy from a dealer who l can visit and eyeball the salesman.

Does anyone have any experience of Hitachi’s after sales set up?

Current alternatives are Kubota U17, which costs a grand more new, or a scruffy 2019 U17 with 1600 hours on the meter asking price £11 ½k. Kubota dealer is nearby.

My boss is all Hitachi. The big machines They ring you up and tell you when they will be in to service them from the telematics.
I don't think the small ones have it. But the servicing is still very efficient. Parts are expensive. They are supplied with whites quick hitch. And I think they charge you to change the immobiliser code that it comes with.
The 1.9 Hitachi are impressive machines., very very fast which takes some getting use to

You won’t go wrong with a Zx19u no matter who looks after it. Hitachi do run service engineers so all good imo and a grand saved is decent

It's more than extra reach forwards. Extra load over height for loading bigger dumpers and I think you get an extra counterweight.

Canopy on all of them. Local Takeuchi dealer asking for £23,750 for TB219 (2T) with a cab. But hard to justify the differenc. The Tak comes down less than £1,500 for canopy instead of cab.

The trouble with the TB219 is they're charging top money for a 20 year old machine IMO. No track pedals. Auxiliarys still done off a foot pedals. It might be a good machine but theyd have to bring a few aspects up to modern at standards to interest me at that money.

The Hitachi are still the same pretty basic. You have to go to the 19 with the tail swing to get the cab and track pedals. I dont know if aux on the joystick is an option on any small hitachi

Yeah as far as I can tell the Zx19 with tail swing has track pedals and joystick aux. Looks a decent size cab too
