So clients didnt like the rock idea so we're doing 3 walls out of slate slabs - sleepers - slate posts as per photos below.

First 2 lifts will have a set of steps in and the rest will be made of mix of uprights slate and sleepers, ground is slate/stone that will be hard going, the height will be about 1.2m high and we are planning to order 2m lengths of everything and get as much as poss concreted in as poss, ripper should come in to pull trench, then back them with product below View attachment 59183before drain in bottom and clean stone backfill.
Question is ...any tips for the job, setting out etc they are fair lumps so we will need a pretty efficient way of going about it, dont wont a lot of double handling and messing...as per useful any usual advice very welcome

No all vertical upright sleepers / slate etc all mixed - concreted in.

Plenty of clean stone behind, perforated pipe and wrapped in fabric.
Could you angle the wall back a few degrees?

That's my thoughts too. 6cm thick might be ok. But at 3cm just thinking if they're concreted in there's no scope for movement a moderate sledge blow at 1.2m would have them snapped off- might be wrong but my instinct says no

Weather playing games again here, forecast completely wrong. Didn't bother going to site due to predicted rain, went to the yard, split a few crates of logs, brilliant sunshine ffs
At least I got to fire up a couple of tractors and fork a couple of pallets onto my new shelf but I'm getting a bit fed up with rain now, and predictions of it which are then wrong

It's not hard to predict the weather at the moment- it's basically shite day in day out. Went up to see family near Coventry over Easter was shocked to see that sun in abundance and pleasant spring days. We've had nothing like that here- seriously can't remember the last dry day we had let alone dry spell- thing there was a few days at beginning of march- before then begining of Jan- appalling winter.

Ive never used this slate before and it did make me wonder if it was up to the job, supplier said its used all the time in this type of scenario.
Sketch is about to scale, could potentially span slate at back of sleepers with something...

More progress in 2 hours than 2 days, front footing in, back concrete broken out and type 1 arrived. I'll be able to leave the job for the weekend with a clear conscious at this rate!

Managed to cut out the side plates and round the end corner off just need to bend them out to meet the s40 bracket width then grind disk to have a shamfer both sides

What a bitch of a tank install. Base bang on level, ended up having to lift right hand tank about 30mm. The collars in the tank are so tight had to put a collar between tanks, the 1 in the photo 108mm ffs had to put large chamfer on it and fit with a block of wood and lump hammer.
Meant to take better photo from top will do Monday

We used to fit a system called biorock with the tank and filter media in seperate tanks, had a vent from connecting pipe and similar could be a pita to get bang on.
If space allows we get units bolted together now with all connecting pipework already in place, most seem to offer a monoblock system now....what are you installing there ?

Don’t know what tanks or how your installing them but usually inlet to outlet is different levels….? Or is it 2 parts of tank joined to make one?
