All the time saving you've made by owing an engcon will be lost pissing around with this method. Used to have a Weiner (?) one that filled like this- was a horrendous messy business- on par with extracting alloy ramps out of the back on an Ifor

Ha ......you seriously underestimate a tiltrotator but I get your point, just be fooked if I can find 500ml cartridges and its by far the best grease system ive used.

Getting to grips with the controls the wrong way around compared to the grab too. Needs more flow for rotate being a worm drive so the right hand does rotate as opposed to left on the timber grab.

Bloody cpc ,I’ve gotta fit 3 in before September, Covid sort of broke the rhythm of one a year.
Has anyone tried doing them online? I don’t know if I could handle it or not,I did a speed awareness course this way and that nearly pushed me over the edge!

I've done them online. You just set the camera up and do what you like. I've spent the day working on the laptop and another playing Xbox. As long as you are looking at the camera and half paying attention you are all good.
Best one is if you know enough people who need to do it, get them in to your yard or office on a Saturday. Then pester them to leave early. Most of them are far easier in your own setting

Sounds worth a go then, we used to have a group of us locally that got together in a pub and the trainer came to us ,that was alright! Everyone’s sort of drifted away in recent years,retired,just packed it in etc.

I've done stuff like this with a rake bucket before- does a good job of getting as much root out as poss... Dunno if it's the correct method but was effective utilising what I had to hand...View attachment 57748

Grab and keep grabbing. The most you get in the grab the better it will grip the next grab. That gets most of the roots out.View attachment 57748

Then just mow a few more times.
This kind of thing is my bread and butter. I usually mow with the cut and collect afterwards on a conservation site. This was last weeks job- just waiting for it to dry out to get back with the alpine and grab to remove the windrows to a dump site

I was on a job close by so had 1/2hr with the 6t and rake and it was a waste of time in this instance - just pulled végétation off the top and left roots - tried a bit deeper with rake teeth and they just clogged up with turf etc
Grab sounds good but I dont really have time to spend 2 days doing it.
I could put him onto a local farmer with the kit to do it but if its mown then rotovated will the chopped up roots come back ?

Is roundup banned over there now? If not and time isn’t an issue just now it off now and spray the fresh growth in spring before rotavating.

Hmm surprised the rake didn't work for you. Was that a rake bucket or the more heavy duty clearance take. When I use mine (rake bucket) I do a bit of a slew and re-reach at the same time so the bramble wrap nicely around the tines and it pulls the roots out. once the bulk of it is cleared just grade over the rest to remove any remains detritus. Like anything with a rake though dry ground is your friend.
