A wile ago in fact nearly 2 years ago
@Brendan I think it was put up that Ford where doing a chassis good will gesture on the rangers… anyways long story short I’ve been on the waiting list for 2 years nearly, my ranger was meant to go to a ford commercial centre near me about 15 miles away.. anyways fast forward to this morning , got an email from ford commercial to say that I had now to bring my ranger to Dagenham to get the chassis sorted and that they would cover the cost of the ferry the 4 times that I would need for taking mine over bringing courtesy one back and then courtesy one back to collect my own then home again.. So as you can imagine I was less that impressed, bear in mind for me to get to Dagenham it’s near as dam a thousand mile round trip as im in the very north or Northern Ireland.. I rang the person in Ford I was dealing with and asked nicely where they also going to pay for my time and diesel to get there, response was no we won’t as we think it’s a reasonable expense.. I literally laughed in her face and broke down the 2 days it would take me just to get there and back and probably 3 tanks of diesel just to get there.. it’s 520 miles on way for me not including the boat lol.. I then said that the agreement I had with them was for their ford centre In Northern Ireland to do it which I have in writing from ford… phone went quiet and then oh so you’d like us to keep you on the waiting list for northern Ireland then???
Im sorry but am I being too uptight or is that the biggest load of Shi*e you have ever heard from a company? Especially as it’s meant to be a good will gesture on there behalf?
Also I asked about getting the ranger transported by Woodside motor freight who are Northern Ireland based and could do the haulage of my ranger there courtesy one back and then courtesy one back and mine home for £1000.. ferry’s alone where working out at £1200.. to which ford said no we don’t do that and it isn’t cost effective??? Am I missing something?
