Dont know how I get involved but we have a project where there are some bankings to face with stone, we have about 25 m x 1.5m high at about 45°
Looking to get delivery of stone similar to this

I know its all dependant of stone size and type but what do we reckon on tonnage for a guestimate ....100t ish ?

Depends on how deep your wanting the rock to go into the banking for retaining purposes? Here is a photo of a small section I faced. It's an 11 ton load and the wall dimensions are 10m long by 1.2m high.
Personally I'd work on 2 ton a meter for what your looking to do...
2nd pic is a 10 ton load- probably about the size your after? I'd be confident that will face 5meter at 5ft high....
3rd pic is 5 meters long and 7ft high...that was also 10ton...

Railway sleeper wall and steps on first rise, railway sleeper steps and stone face on 2nd and stone face 3rd.
It was supposed to be handed over for someone else to do but that hasnt come off so we are back in firing line.....

What kind of finish are you expected to put on the stone facing. Massive boulders stacked roughly stepped back at 45% will use up alot more weight than simply stone facing with like the pics I sent above- which would be pitched more like a ratio of 5:2. Both would do the job the latter being more time consuming but a neater finish and less stone required...

There are no guidelines really , I suppose it depends on the stones, What I need is a man of your talents 🙂
