The base truck single wheel chassis in white only was 18.5k in 2020. A grey one twin wheel with mesh side taillift body and big toolbox and towbar was 28K+vat in summer 2020. Trailers have gone up 50% in that time so new trucks haven't seen the same hike..

My 2020 iveco averages 19mpg. So much for been environmentally friendly.

My 2000 sprinter averaged 26mpg.
my old K plated, 6 pot Iveco 7.5 used to average 13mpg driven hard ... could get 20mpg kept to 50MPH loaded or empty , with or without 3.5t behind it  (11t gross)

my Leyland Cruiser artic unit with 4+t on the 5th wheel, which I used as a recovery unit, regularly did 28mpg running about (not sure what it did with 44t behind it though :giggle: .. but pulled it like a loco)

Our old 75e15 would do similar. Like your it would of been unrestricted, would do 80mph if you let it. Bomb proof them old 75e15, when they went to tectors the inevitable electrics created problems.

My grab is about 14mpgs....but if you believe what the computer says it's doing 54mpg...similar to it saying it was 19deg outside today....it has a positive outlook my truck 🤪🤪

13mpg for a pickup is ridiculous surely - 19t wagon will do 11/12 mpg !!
13mpg in an old isuzu trooper isn't bad, don't forget your talking early 90s old school 3.1 derv lump. Last trooper made will be around 21 years old now and they went to a 3.0 engine (cat engine with issues) in around 99. That was big improvement on mpg...just not reliability.

That looks a right weapon for a 7.5 ,proper truck.
was a lovely drive - very comfortable - plated at 4002kgs MT ... could carry 2kgs short of 3.5t and tow 3.5t ... more with the sides off .. made the body for it 21ft long .. drop sides - lift off tail .. could put the tail board on any of the side posts, by moving the rear posts up the bed, so could have 2+ / 4+m sided, with the rest flat and a ramp rail across the back .. My mate Simon used to borrow it regularly for shifting his horticultural gear about (little lambo/JD traccies and implements)

the draw bar tele-ed out / extended depending on what trailer I had on the back, but could stretch it out 3+ ft., if needed, to avoid catching the front of a trailer with the back end of the truck
for what I got for it when I sold it, I should've bloody kept it .... 'specially these days
could carry 40 footers on it

job those went into in the town .. couldn't get a crane at it ... barely 6 ft wide alleyway to the rear access so drove my 2.5t Toyota FLT up to site, carried them in slung on a fork and upped them with the FLT ..

only one I had that'd reach the ridge beam, without a load of faffing packing it up on the forks ... was a great little FLT .. the mast now fits on the 'Drema

used to clock the MPG brim to brim on the tank and mileage on a run .... regularly ran up to Reading / London suburbs with steelwork for the timber frame guys, I did lots for, or sometimes up North like Leeds :( ... and yes .. went like hell in the night if you clogged it - at a cost
