HI,
I'm Danny 26 from Cornwall.
I run a small plant hire and groundworks company which started in May 2015, mainly plant hire but do take on the occasional groundworks job if i can fit it in.
Its mainly my self and a full time groundworker we've worked together on and off since 2010 so work quiet well together he's actually pretty good on a machine just prefers being on the ground which works out quiet well.

Currently running two case cx130d - 2016/2017 had a few problems with both of them but the dealer has always stood by them , I operate one and the other one is now just self drive after the operator decided to leave and go back on the farm thought about selling it but with another year on the finance decided to keep it. Cant find decent drivers down here as the larger companies are paying stupid money to retain there own staff

Nice little weekend job 150m of electric duct on a farm then reinstate the concrete with C35 boiling when i was digging it with the Cat mini digger then rained when i wanted to concrete it

X4 Concrete access tracks for a side loading forklift back in 2016 along with some entrance work at the factory recently gone back to price up some more work so must of done something right

Retaining wall at this old property to get rid of damp in the bathroom before refurbishment dug down below the floor level in the house,

I was hoping the ground was going to be soft and i would get away with using the 300mm bladed bucket, but it was solid so had to use the bulking bucket with teeth

Was one of my first jobs with the Hitachi, demolish the internal bunded storage area

Removal of a devon bank so a proper cornish wall could be constructed.

Demolition of a disabled access ramp - ramp cost in excess of £10k and the people moved in didn't want it anymore.
Broke it all out, grabbed it away and then imported topsoil. Customer decided to keep the railing and re-erect him self.

Foundation for a coach house - 3 garages with a flat on top basically

All the houses were piled but didn't think about piling the retaining walls - resulted in digging down 1.5m by 3m wide, then filling back in with 803 in 150mm layers before concrete. We aint no shuttering chippies either

Some work you get up to, how do you find the Case

When you look back theres quiet a lot of variety, I really rate the case very popular down here, the dealer is about 10miles from where i live and have always bent over backwards to help me out

did it hold together?

Lovely bloke worked for me for 9months, was getting on well never moaned just cracked on. Had a few things going on at home with his kids and missus so decided it was easier to go back on the farm as you can start at 4am milking cows and finish when there done. I don't begrudge anyone for leaving just can put you in an awkward situation when your a small business especially you've just invested in a brand new van for him along with a new machine for my self.
But the door is always open should he wish to come back. Felt like a relationship break up when i was driving him home on his last day

Funny that I had the same feeling when a lad who started with me left he was my first employee and I did my best for him. Was weird when he decided to go back on the tools it did feel like a breakup haha it’s difficult when your a small business
