Purchases for 2024

So, Santa has hopefully dropped his load earlier today, Christmas dinner has been consumed and now you’re relaxing on the sofa stuffed with Turkey and pudding.

Has anyone got any potential purchase ideas lined up for the new year?

Yep I am toying with a 4wd Tractor to replace my Ford 5610, I have just started looking but prices are not coming down that's for sure, I think its going to be an IH or MF at the moment.

New bloody work truck as my Iveco daily Has just failed it’s mot and I’ve spent enough on it .Struggling to find a replacement without buying new though.

Slane track too big for me.. awesome machine but not small or controllable...would want something a lot more compact.

Kubota not a great deal smaller, there is also a "pup" version of the slanetrac which is a little smaller.
Local plant company had a few Kubotas on self drive and apparently got shot before the warranties ran out and made the change.
I know self drive not really a good marker for being looked after but they said was a few issues. To be fair some were caused from bad hirers but from what the fitter was saying material gets between the rear of the skip and ends up causing issues with hoses

I've got the slanetrac, it's smaller than my micro digger. So if that doesn't get in then I'm shoveling by hand, so I might as well just use my Muck Truck.
Can't see many machines that sensibly fit between the 2?

Next buy- either a Disco4 or a td5/2.4 110. I know the pros and cons of all of them, it's most likely to be what I see at a smart buy price come march/April. Although a D4 is edging it at the moment as that would let me buy a tax exempt 90 or series 3 as a toy

On a smaller scale- the laser engraver I mentioned elsewhere. Stepsister bought my dad a plywood box for Christmas, the laser engraving of a special section of OS map turns it into something else entirely

I think this is the year for a new pickup, waiting for exact details of the Hilux GR sport 2 to come out.
Also finish of our new house build, only got the slabs to buy now!
And on the business side of things it’s a big year for planning permission submissions as we secured our next site last month, fees have gone to madness levels!

With hindsight I should have changed it 6 months ago,spent a lot on it this last year ,I could repair it but have decided to cut my losses.

Hindsight 20/20. Prices have calmed a bit in 6 months so you might have done yourself a favour. If it makes you feel better... sold a 10 plate rough fiesta van for only £500 trade in as it saved me taking a lad off the tools for half a day, and it had issues as well. Sold it in May 23. My garage gave me a bill in September 23 for work I had done in January 23. For £900... that hurt :-(

I found the Slane track quite aggressive. I need to get a Kubota out on hire for a good play. The hoses getting damaged by materails issue sounds like user error.
Out local Bradfords have one on hire, but never when I want the damn thing...hence considering buying one.
