That is some site👊😎 to me that's a proper job...
Unlike HS2 which seemed a competition to see how much money could be splurged on opencast mining for two railway tracks FFS 🫣

a dumb question ,how do they release the cradle holding the blade ?
two options'd be my guess .. either remote release attachment points -- but more likely a manual job ... plenty to attach yerself to ....... lets see AI do that sh1t :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

just tripped over XCMG's predecessor to the 3000 a 2600 .... there's a decent view of the blade cradle in it ... looks to be some form of hydraulic clamping mechanism 2.17

9.13 for blade lifts - interesting cradle

they're obviously capable of a lot more than we often give them credit for ... the tech involved in designing and building this gear is 'up there'

I’m in the French Alps on holiday and there are quite a few of these around on new-build sites. I had a close(ish) look at one today and can only deduce that it is held up by magic alone, as the footprint is tiny (12 feet square) and cribbage looks like zero shits are given. I paced the outreach at over 30m(!) - it’s ridiculous!
Haven’t seen one working so not sure what sort of weight they hang off them but the fact it doesn’t just tip over anyway is very impressive - it has around 16 tonnes of concrete counterweight but the minuscule footprint makes no sense at all when viewed ‘in the flesh’.
