Christ all this talks of getting it drilled and all would have been quicker to just chalk line just below pins on both sides and cut and weld the bracket onto the top as getting all 4 holes square and correctly aligned to both sides and pin to pin would be a ball ache

considering no kit to drill a 40mm flipping hole it may be the way to go !

Yep agree, seems the obvious and best option ...no mag drill but will find a solution.

Although the remains of the larger pins would only be welded on one side so would be a mild steel bush that could move or crack around weld in time

Put it this way paint on my engcon buckets pins when new made it a bitch to attach or remove them your trying to get it all square

Yeah I had the same between my top hitch and tilty, fitment was absolutely bang on , zero room for error, infact I think the fitter even took the grinder(sand pad) onto my unit to get it to lock in!

biggest thing with the pipe cutter is to get the chain in the right position on the pipe all the way round, or end up with some right queer shaped ends ..... looks to be hand driven, that one

Yes hand driven Hancock. It had a run round first to check, and burn the paint off the cut first.
It was down your neck of the woods, kept my eyes open passing through Pandy, for a Kia on the school run
Came down empty, could of brought some stock down for @JD450A for storage onward shipment

@Gunners has some good videos on idig that are deff worth a look.
Personally it depends on the job as to whether I setup the laser, for little runs you can bench the bottom of trench as you go , but also can end up quite a ways out using that method, even trying to be careful.
For pads and larger areas then laser is the way to do it.

How good is idig for digging trenches for sewer pipes etc, Is it easy to set fall and re set every time you move machine? Presume it will only be accurate based on how good ur last datum point is?

That’s correct , but if you set up a level laser to a grade then it should be dead on every time , as far as I know. But I haven’t actually used it yet right enough

Not today, yesterday. A couple of weeks ago I put my sugar tongs (Shove holers, what do you call them? through a cable, turned out to be sodding pyro (ancient) , no one i know had the tools to repair. I ended up buying a set from a retiring spark, best mate (qualified spark, generator specialist now) repaired it for me yesterday,
Makes up for the fact that when I was doing the patio, not seen over his left shoulder, I was doing 4 hour working days so I could look after his dogs, 2 hour round trips away, while his eldest daughter and wife were in hospital for 2 weeks after birth?
Anyone else got a work mate (sort of) they'd be absolutely lost without?

Trouble is setting up lazer level to a grade you need to keep moving/re setting as you work round a house etc , Get it out the box and report back next wk @Vinpetrol

Might be a bit lost in the typing, I bought the tools from an old boy, for this young boy to use

Both me and him have a lot of time for the 'oldens' - the guy we put the acoustic enclosures in for/with is 78 and outworks ANYONE I know, including my old man who at 63 would 'have ' 99% of us

I’ve worked with him for over 20 years . He’s the most annoying bar steward I’ve ever worked with . Always thinks he’s right , the most pretentious shite I’ve ever met , and he’s condescending and abrupt .
He’s also the best man I’ve ever had around me when I’m in a machine . ( I don’t tell him that , I tell him it’s a guy called Shaun Clarke ) he’s also the best builder I’ve ever worked with , attention to detail and accuracy of his work is exemplary .
I begrudgingly admit , I enjoy working with him .

will do Ped it’s in the hitachi which should be going to my house site as soon as the planning is approved , I don’t want to tempt fate rocking up there in a digger before it’s approved
If I get on well with it the plan is to set it up in the kubota as well .

The trust sums it up . He won’t leave a bad job . Even if he’s got to wait til midnight for concrete to go off , even if I’m telling him to go home . He takes it personally. I also know where he will be all the time when he’s around the digger . If I’m working with someone else I’m slower as I don’t have that same awareness of them .

Him at 2pm - any chance you can run into East London, pick up 1/2 ton of cable, run it up to Bromsgrove (midlands), bump it out, take the wheels off the genny and help me test it?
