JCB 8014CTS (2015) Hydraulic fluid leak

Hi there I have a JCB 8014CTS (2015) , not used it for a while and noticed an oily puddle in the dirt under the tracks, thought it must have just been the rain washing grime off.
yesterday i started it up and it was almost empty of hydraulic oil, i topped it up and used it for about 30 mins and all was fine, today i have noticed a new big oil puddle, its the hydraulic oil again, when i looked under the digger i could see a drip hanging from under the middle of the cab , but the digger is on a slight slope, so could be from elsewhere.
Before i start pulling it about, where is a good place to start looking for the leak, it is leaking when not running obviously if that helps ?
TIA
Dean

having seen the bird's nest of plumbing in my 8015 ... it could be coming from anywhere and will take some tracing ... are all your functions working as they should?

First 2 ports of call is take floor up and belly plate off and have a good look around.

There is millions of pipes under there it could be.
yep .. absolute birds nest, as said .... a good pressure wash off will help, once you can see it all and might just give some indication of the point of origin

Thanks for the reply. When i used it after filling it , it all worked fine but i only used it for about 30 mins, over night a puddle appeared soaked into the ground by the back of the right hand track.

Thanks will give that a go, must be a bigish leak if its coming out when not running under pressure

I like cake
That year 8014 is fairly ish easy to get to the hydraulics

You will need to undo the two main bolts by the pedals and the track levers, the cab will lever backwards via a gas strut giving you access underneath to all the hoses and other stuff.
Remember when pushing back to slot the slew lock pin back in the recess

in light of the fact it emptied the tank whilst stationary over night, perhaps the feed from the tank to the pump has split ... possibly at the pump end??

Hi all as suggested i lifted the cab and found the culprit. its a pipe that has been rubbing in the chassis. its about 18" long and has a BLUE band round it. It seems to go from a small pump to a bigger red unit at the front just under the pedals. I think i might be able to replace it myself ( i am not a mechanic).
Is there any thing i should be carefull of ?
Will the rest of the fluid pour out as i release it ?
Is there a certain torque for re tigtening ?
Does the blue band mean anything in particular ?
Is there a diagram of the system somewhere i can look to try and locate it to order one, or should i just take it off and get one made ?
BTW i am in France and there is not as many availble (cheap) suppliers as the uk ?
TIA. i await your superior knowledge.

Looks like a nice easy fix. Remove the old one, take it down to your local hose supplier. It'll cost more but it will (or at least should, and you can shout at them if not) be right.

Although apparently JCB are pretty easy to order the right pipes from. But local supplier will be quicker.

what's the other end attached to ?
a more general/wider field of view would help ... red thing might be the slew drive? but am not familiar with this later model ... you are going to get some oil loss - do you have any plugs to put in the open fitting ends?

come in various sizes -
I've also found a cable shroud works well too

tightness depends on the type of union ... tapered cone = reasonably tight, O ring seat/face seal doesn't need to be over dogged - ditto metric ends don't need to be too tight either ... hard to describe to an unfamiliar 'hand', just how tight, other than nip them up and then give it a little more, with a good nip down for the tapered cone type

Hi thanks again for the suggestions
Have managed to get the pipe off and now on my way to the local supplier ( second mortgage at the ready)
managed to get a bag and cable tie over the fitting to try to stop loosing the rest of my oil.
would there be any washer/oring on either of these fittings ? didnt see any
Also picture is off the large red unit under the pedals that the pipe feeds into/out of ?
I am thinking of having a 40 degree and put on the end that rubbed the move it away from the metal body that it has rubbed a groove into, is ths a good idea ?

TIA

looks like metric to me from the pix ... you shouldn't have much trouble getting that made up other than the 30 deg swept union ... might have to have a swept adapter on the end of a hose with two straights on it, but hopefully your hose place should have swept fittings .. plenty of space to fit a separate adapter though ..... be interesting to know what that cost in La Belle France ? :giggle: ... what part are you calling home?

If you can't find a local supplier, this crowd is easy to deal with:
hcparts.pl
For smaller diameter hoses, foam ear plugs will work to block the hose.
Looks like the hose will always rub on the chassis - a spiral wrap or similar protection may help to save the next hose,
