Tiltrotator advice please

I would put it on the tilt ram, especially if you’re going to be swapping machines. Most 4 / 6 hose setups will divert the tilt to aux, personally id get the proper valve from engcon (depending on price of course) as it seems you have pretty much the whole lot there
I think I’ve got a new diver for a ec02 that bolted to the tilt ram behind the plate. It got sent to me instead of some o rings by mistake . I’ve got one slightly bent & one cracked tilt ram in the shed aswell for ec02

Definitely Scandi grader, i like the Engcon 900 wide( 90l i think) ec27 would handle larger but 900 goes in a dumpy bag and picks up shingle etc.saves shovelling and digs well in all but hardest conditions.
600 toothed DB02 100 L.Engcon.
Tapered or tile drain 200 wide at bottom and width of tilty at the top for drainage and trenching, BMC made mine.
That would be my basics, but you can never have to many subject to budget restraints :ROFLMAO:
@Gunners shares some between similar sized machines but don't know how successfully :unsure:(y)
@CPS must have more experience than most on what works.
I get on very well sharing buckets between the 8026 and 18z. I do have a set of buckets for each machine (the 8026 having bigger buckets obviously) but do share up and down as required because both machines will handle both sizes just fine. The real saving is in sharing specialist attachments like the breaker, rake, ripper etc. Only have to buy one and it serves two machines - a very efficient way to own attachments, and what I think you are aiming to do here too @doobin ?
If we are talking what buckets we take to a job, then its 90% of the time, the grader, 750mm digging bucket, 300mm cable bucket and ripper. The 600 hardly gets used, only for footings really, the 450 is handy sometimes, great for digging out of bulk bags, but like someone else says, the shape of them without teeth is a bit stubby and I really want a 450mm bucket shaped like my cable bucket!

Plenty of people make scandi buckets for tiltrotators but I would bare in mind that some are made of Hardox and some arent. Generally thats where the cost savings are. Aiden will make them with or without Hardox as you wish, I think Digbits do this too. Most of the others are made of standard steel.
I would also add that the Engcon buckets are much more than meets the eye. They have done a great job in saving weight where they can with them, whilst keeping the strength. On a mini digger where weight is crucial - I would consider any alternatives very closely to the Engcon specs they list on their website, because whilst expensive - they are very good.

Also, doesn't @JD450A have a scandi grader for sale he bought years ago? Probably swapped for an xbox? 😁

straight forward cetop3, either /or diverter :cool: no manifold though

Just opened the top. Two blanking caps and there are two engcon style quick connects underneath. Is this the spare service for a grab etc?

The connected line does the hydraulic hitch underneath.
well that looks like the top of the rotary coupling and it appears to be 4 ported/galleried :cool: as has been said you need to feed those blanks with oil pressure (from a diverter - again as said - from the top of the tilt ram) ... got any pix of the top of the ram Doob ??

looking at this I think the diverter valve/manifold is usually mounted in a box on the side of the ram in others I've seen pix of, so guessing that any diverter you fit is going to have to be between the incoming lines from your dipper and the ram's ports and thence to the ram and the aux ports on the rotary coupling .... not a lot of space, but do-able .. particularly with an integral 6x2 diverter like I fitted to the dipper on Lil' Jake.. cetop3 AND manifold's gonna be quite a lump in comparison to that one .... this one's pretty compact.

in your case - banjo ended lines would be your friend on the diverter body -- possibly 30 or 45 deg tailed ones ;)

My Engcon buckets are all toothed and I’ve a welded a toe plate on them.. they are great!
My 18” seems to be kept with its teeth on for very hard ground.

I’d probably oneday get a dedicated 12” long nose cable bucket but there is no real need(a taper tile bucket would probably be more beneficial thinking about it)

To be fair, I'm probably not going to bother doing anything yet. I think it will restrict the grab open/close too much, and I'm very happy with the rotator/grab setup I currently have. So will change the top hat on that to S30 and continue abusing that rather than the tiltrotator!

To be fair, I'm probably not going to bother doing anything yet. I think it will restrict the grab open/close too much, and I'm very happy with the rotator/grab setup I currently have. So will change the top hat on that to S30 and continue abusing that rather than the tiltrotator!
wouldn't say that Doob ... I've never seen one of those little Engcons in the flesh, but just surmising, from what I can see ... a few more general pix of yon beasty'd help ... you may have room to locate a diverter in the lower body, under the cover, but that may end up with pipes to the aux ports in the rotary coupling too short to achieve, which is why it gets mounted on the side of the ram in all probability. .... interesting challenge for sure (y):giggle:

Really getting the hang of it now. Today’s job it was just singing. Would have been a stressy all day mess without the tilty- as it was done by midday.

Clear the brambles and brash with the grab, level out a track next to the ditch and then clean out. All on the piss.

V bucket used sideways to join another ditch and also to dig deeper under an incoming drain was brilliant.

I preferred the normal ditch bucket for cleaning. Spin it round and suddenly I was able to make a tidy job of spreading the mud!

Seeing as @doobin is now a jcb fanboy it seemed right to share this on his thread!

the 100c never made much sense to me, but add a tilty and steel’s onto it and it starts to add up. Not sure about the tilty itself…
