Yeah but thats new price near on.

Second hand they don't hang around long at 8-9k. Yes, expensive. But worth it.

For value for money.... how about this? 2004, 3.5k cash secondhand, 1600 working hours. Looks fairly well maintained. You'd barely get a decent ride on mower for that, and look at all the pumps and motors on this thing! 2.9l engine, very clean with only a hint of rust bubbles.

I bought it to keep the yard clean, use as a mobile 30/l min pressure washer/bowser, clear up leaves and s**t on an industrial scale and also- it'll make a great sawdust extractor for the firewood processor and make it child's play to clean up around the mill with a wander hose! I was all set to pay £1400 plus vat fo ra single phase sawdust extractor suitable for a firewood processor, and then I started wondering...

For hire work it's gotta be at least £500 plus vat a day and I've messaged it around a few people and already got a job for it. A long private drive that's just had all the moss killed. We're coming in to leaf fall season, and it'll be grand for silage clamps in spring. At 2.5t it can go on a trailer for self drive hire too. With a message around all the farmers and yard owners I know, I expect to get my money back in under a year. Plus being so handy around the yard.

Serious value for money. Quite nippy- tempted to insure it for road use!

@Russell - this is the one I was telling you about

Looks handy for cleaning up after the farmers though.

I sold that Wright Stander mower for £1800 after fixing the starter motor and deciding it wasn't right for the job in hand. This sweeper just looked incredible value when you compared it to a poxy little mower. It'll do so much. And I can't think of anywhere round here you could hire one that goes on a trailer.

With the presure washer and then the wander hose you could even use it for basic water aided suction excavation on your own little jobs. Should also suck out drain catch pits around the yard.

No idea, haven't looked! Yup, Scarab Minor.

looks to be on tranny axles/running gear?? bigger than most of the Scarrabs I've seen and the 'Ford' steering wheel is interesting .. is that 2.9l lump diesel, or petrol?

Apparently it's Transit running gear and a VM Motori turbo diesel, which is an instant starter.

I think the 'bigger' is just an illusion- tiger stripes! It's the smallest they made.

nah deffo seen smaller ones ... a mate used to buy and sell 'em from a local auction that used to get all the 'authority' crud and Russ has got a real dinky little un sat in his yard ... small enough to drive on pavements ... they ran VW golf engines for sure .
let's hope the VM motor is better than some fitted to vehicles ... SD,s and RR,s had them and were fine when running

The oil is clean and the filter looks fresh. 4000 hours total including travelling. Fingers crossed.

I'm sure Scarab never made anything smaller. GreeMachine were another British make- based in Sctoland until around 2014 I think. They look good machines but from speaking to a specialist the 525 series are impossible to get parts for and the 636 you can get parts for but they are exceptionally expensive. The Scarab looked to offer more, and for the same money you could get a clean machine with parts backup.

This looked nice, but having found out about the lack of parts and the pressure washer option on the Scarabs it was an easy choice.

I did consider this Scarab if anyone else is looking- looks relatively clean but no pressure washer. It's been up for ages, I bet he;'d take 2k cash for it.

Amazing 😆 👍
Hell of a lot of the machine for the money, like you say all those pumps, motors and a pressure washer 👍
There's me being quietly pleased with the front linkage/snow plough/towbar/valve block I just bought for my old tractor for 300 quid, you've somewhat more than one upped me 😆 🤣 👍

Anyone ever used these for stone tracks/concrete yards? Pic shows on a FLT and was wondering if it would mount on my moffett if i pinched the oil supply from the extending forks.. think they are only 1/4" hose so dubious about flow rates. Can't find much info about them online.

Even if it works it'll just spray crap everywhere. You need a bucket brush really.

It'll soon dislodge a stone track with regular use too.

look to be 3/8" hoses on the brush  so could well see flow being an issue

I'm not downsizing at all, I'm adding extra capacity :ROFLMAO: The hedge job I posted is a perfect example of how it will pay for itself no trouble at all. More than a tilty would for me.
Ok- I was wrong! So wrong.

A tilty has been way more use for me. I don’t regret the Sherpa- sometimes I think of selling it as it barely gets used. But on balance I will keep it as it’s a durable tool that will last decades and every now and then it’s such a labour saver.

But if both were stolen, the tilty would get replaced straight away.
