There might be someone here that can educate me with a couple of things
What rules are ballast lorrys running under i always thought stgo was non divisible loads but some of these flatbeds are running 6+axles plus the unit yet are a divisivle load
And how does it work with excavators as ive seen 30 and 40 tonne machines being moved with a full set of attatchments
Are they just seeing what they can get away with

If all the load is going to the same destination you can go to the full STGO weight (so I believe) that’s why you can see a couple of diggers say 13 tonner & 20 tonner on the same load

We normally take the tracks off and fit on a normal set for transport. This was only going along the road a wee bit.

Never thought of that but must be more to it than you/I thing as everyone in haulage would be having a go.
It costs £2500 to tax the truck and if running over 44 tonnes you have to notify the authorities who have to accept the route you will take, but if you deviate from the route you will automatically fall back to C&U so will be fined for being over weight
I was going to go down the STGO route but not worth the extra paperwork
