In my case above....it was all that was available at the time. Otherwise I'd of gone for pipes with sockets.11.99inc vat for a Polypipe plain 3m length delivered from one of my suppliers.
What’s the reason for using plain sections over socketed ones?
I have a bag of cut off sockets with 100/200mm of pipe on! Handy occasionally but I only buy socketless now due to the above! You need a fair run to be using them effectively, but then always have to cut one off on the first pipe anyway!Socketless good if on short runs with lots of chambers bends etc and you generally keep double socket in stock , I’ve got my site stack and keep it pretty much full of double socket and some single socket joints. If on short run generally cut the socket off to get a male end etc

Yeah that’s that usually happens, but still end up with lots of little crappy bits! Not a problem anymore anyway, most places stock just socketlessCut 600mm of the first one so it becomes a rocker ?? That way you save having the bags of left overs.

Then plumbers come along, extent the system upwards and leave stuff open all over the place and groundwork's get blamed for problems. At least that's what seams to be happening with usWhat aren't used for rockers
I like to use as upstands and then the spare bungs taken out of chamber bases can go in them and leave the system sealed so no concrete/ brick muck/ other rubbish gets in there and it's neat and tidy to hand over
