do it as well as you can,but learn to do it better
Might depend on grade. We always use b grade screened at 10mm and has the odd stick and stone in it think around 14 quid a tonne last time I collected it.
6mm screened is a hell of a lot more.
10mm blended with compost is dirt cheap or mega expensive depending on how much they need to get rid of the compost.
Went to get some real sh** stuff out a recycling plant last year. Still smelt like skip waste. Usually we would expect it near free and they wanted £45 a tonne collected.
that stuff was lovely .. nothing in it at all .. was great under the turf

£70 a ton?!!! Holey moley!! I’ve 1kton+ of it stacked up in my yard and another heap that’s probably half that by time it’s gone through 🤯
Might buy a screening bucket myself now 😂
Kinel £70 a ton. Collected some yesterday at £6pt screened but untested and top quality super dooper top soil is £16pt. And it's in aboundence every yard round here.

Locally it makes no sense for us screening anything on site.

I’ve the llyod 4-9 ton setup with split pins to fit my 5 ton Kubota or 9 ton Takeuchi

That was it going home after its first job that actually paid for it off one job. We screened about 200 tons so 200 x 18 = £3600 muck away and 150 tons soil bought in 150 x 40 = £6000. And the client was over the moon as was all from site and no foreign seeds etc and reduced carbon from no wagons etc. Got sent up the chain as a sustainable development win. We’ve just not had a job for it since last summer.

We also used the rocks we got out for a track base was win all rd

Got 1-2k ton pile at our rugby club but no use for that soil currently

It cost me £8220 plus vat with the 4 pin head so I guess given it’s brand new I’d want £7500 plus vat I’m in no rush to sell it though will come in again for sure. There’s planning in at moment for a very big job at a NT stately home that’s across the valley from my yard so I think next year it’ll be busy again. Plus I can hire it to Dave to print some money out of his pile haha might even have a 3cx breaker headstock here so he can run it on our 2002 sticks 3cx for some nostalgia haha

Haha no bargains here

It’s paid for and we’ll use it again no need or desire to sell it

Tempted to get one for 3 ton to be more mobile option for extensions etc where 5/9 ton too big rather than riddling with rake but @Gunners has one he hasn’t used just uses rake instead

The screen be a handy thing to hire on a big job! I’m sure in the right conditions you could fire a fair heap though it in no time?
is that a farmers day or 8 hours? 😂

can't see how any of that can be construed as legal ... digger lad is obviously over weight ... "Agricrusher" FFS .. pretty obvious that that is rarely going to be crushing anything remotely agricultural .. ditto the screener ... and before anyone says they could be towed by a fully compliant, tacho fitted traccy, running on white ... pull the other one

With the crusher and screener would it be possible to register them and the tractor as mobile plant or similar and just run on white.
Unlike tractors and low loaders who's sole purpose is to avoid running a wagon those crushers on a tractor seem quite a logical route, especially to earn a big tractor keep out of winter. And it encourages recycling which is surely a point for them
