but had a time on everything Cat 631. TS14 TS24 Cat grader Cat D4 6 7 8 9 IH drotts and even a John Deere elevator scraper , Started at the age of 14 ,in school hols on a D6 and scraper stripping top soil on M1 at scratchwood

Ok just having a go for the brave or foolish first go on a TS14 stood it on its nose , nobody told me to take my foot of the accelerator to the rear engine when turning happy days

Memories when working on Anglesey 9 of us in same digs ,Out one night for a few beers left early because I was shattered, Woke in the early hours,cold ,The lads had lifted me out of bed and put me outside, The landlady was not to impressed when I knocked on the door buck naked

The D9 driver,second right in photo is my dad,Tom Thomas,he went down South with the gang after the Holyhead job,based in st Albans,They floated all the big plant by barge to Liverpool docks after the job,due to difficult access onto the Island,they drove the scrapers back in convoy with police escort to st Albans,took 4 days,bandbs on the way!!
