Hello everyone, new member here with an odd problem.

I’ve got a tracked stump grinder that has expanding tracks same as a micro digger.

However, the machine is
sagging - not the rubber tracks along the X axis but across the machine on the Z axis due to the nylon bushes on the expansion arms getting worn.

Couple of questions- what are they called
And
Are they replaceable?

Looks like a jcb chassis and yes they are replaceable I've a full set of the nylon shims awaiting to go one one of my machines. I'll get you the part number off them, but won't be til next week.

In a crane boom they'd be called wear pads, so'd guess it'd be a similar terminology for them too ..... if they're as they look to be - tubular - they'd take some persuading into their respective tubes ... they do however look to be flat strips (which'd also take some persuading in there I'd have thought) :unsure:

I think it's a predator stump grinder. Far smaller components than a mini. Only about 50mm wide.



If you can get the old ones out it would be cheaper to measure them and buy bits of nylon. If not just go to the manufacturer and see a price for them.

I'd agree there .. look to be bits of 100 x 50 RHS slide into the fabricated pockets (y)

It wouldn't be entirely out the question to build the metal up with weld and have it machined square. Or grind it down but obviously harder to get right.

Same chassis as 2004 to 2010 jcb 8010. After 2010 they changed design.

I'll guarantee jcb will be cheaper on the price

Deffo a jcb 8010 chassis.

Crap design that was swapped for T shaped arms in 2010 to give it a bigger surface area to ease the ware on them

be a pain to machine unless the frame was completely stripped ... soon grind it back and TBH running on nylon pads it shouldn't be THAT worn

It depends if the nylon is worn out further in side the sleeves and it's been running metal to metal.
Difficult to machine but not impossible if you found someone with the right kit. Want something with quite a deep throat either mill or surface grinder

That's exactly what happens. Machines are run 95%of the time carriage out. If they were ran 95% carriage in then you'd get no where near the ware but you get no where near the stability.

The old design highlights it quite fast.

I'd double check that first as the micro plus uses a mini extending chassis they go from 1m wide to around 1.4m wide. Very rare machine, I've only ever seen one.

That's the standard 'micro' when first launched and was later badged 8010.
