What about a tractor? More economical on fuel than a bulldozer, more common and therfore plausible... this one linked above is a beauty

Would these characters have the time and ability to fit a sod off big snow plough to the front of the TS24 ? would clear cars efficiently .

I'd say a farm tractor with a front loader fitted with forks would be ideal, something that will do 50k.Head down the hard shoulder of the motorway, then use the loader to shove/lift cars out the way to make a path when needed. Can also go cross country when needed.
Could also tow a trailer with a fuel bowser in and other supplies.

I think your all massively over estimating the force required to push a vehicle out the way.
A transit tipper in reverse does a fair job dispersing police cars.

Won’t a description of something big yellow and heavy do ...or is it illustrated and factually correct ?

We always joke in the yard that if a mad max type event happened I would happily drag a d6/8?straight blade out towing a bowser of fuel with welded cab glass and a few peep holes . Full hid bright lighting facing out and down to blind and disoriented . Plus flames and riffle holes.

Then I realise I need to sell a bobcat e10 to a guy in his 80s who wants to landscape his garden but only has a budget of 3 k and doesn’t want to pay vat
