Has anyone used anything similar? Just thinking of a occasional way to move pallets around the yard when only the tractor is in..

do it as well as you can,but learn to do it better
would like to knock out a set for the Zetor ... and have been really annoyed with myself, for some time, for skipping my little 1.25t leccy FLT complete with mast  ... would've been perfect - lifted to 10ft. and was a nice, light build!!

got a few pairs of forks about me, but'd be nice to do more than simply lift off the floor

Very handy things. I knocked some up from scrap metal and they pretty much stay on the tractor full time. Hydraulic top link as smiffy said otherwise on uneven ground your off and on extending it by hand, then you pick up the load and its squint so you try to shorten again but its under tension, pain in the ass!
