It is an OMT MF (Officine Meccaniche Tortona / Meccanica Franzosi)
As Fiat did not produce a 4-axle version of the 690, MF produced their own version. At first they used an AEC engine from England which proved to be unreliable

With these acronyms the 4 axles in question was born on a 690n1 chassis and axle, the cabin is prettier, derived from the fiat, it retains the doors, the rest is more rounded. The first engine is English I think Leyland with 220hp but very unhappy, so much so that for a short time, the supply was suspended in favor of the 203 fiat of the 690ns and then n1. Also built in the 4x2 version on a 682 chassis, it appears as a tractor. The financial conditions for the efforts due will lead to the division of the company, and the suspension of truck production , the New OMT will be born on the ashes.

four wheels up front instead of four at the back end ... the breweries used to love 'em for getting in places and having good capacity

technically the artic.s were always referred to as double or twin steer .. Chinese sixes were more often flatbed rigids ... the extra axle up front gave them a great carrying capacity over the whole bed

I know what a Chinese 6 is. My ? Is why is it called that.
I think it was some way of getting around some rules about axle weights.
