Thanks chap
Any idea what years it cover I’ve a 2015 2.2.
I like mine too only got 86k on the clock tows fair well too. It does all I need it to.
I don’t I’m afraid. Mine is 2020 and was in that recall. My mates is 2018 and isn’t. I don’t know if it’s year dependent or axle type. I don’t know what the criteria for inclusion was I’m afraid

I've had two, first, 65reg was fine mechanically but numerous electrical sh t, latest 70 reg has been fine, had it remapped, adblue and egr delete, tows well and nice to drive, as said above seems bit of a lottery, but also as above no worse than any other modern high tech diesel pickup. due for the diff recall but not sure its worth the effort, I'm thinking if it was going to go it would have at 33k ?

Mine is a 69 plate 2.0L. It’s had its dif tested and passed. It had injectors replaced as there were a lot failing due to a poor surface coating and several other recalls.

It’s actually gone in today for two to three weeks to be striped and have the chassis blasted and re coated. The chassis work is not a warranty thing as according to Ford’s lawyers it’s only superficially rusted but they were offering either replacement chassis or the treatment option I went for as a ‘Good will gesture’. They have also provided a curtesy Ranger whilst it’s away.

do it as well as you can,but learn to do it better
Unfortunately the ranger is a cartridge filter, so cant fill it to help out:(
do sump first then and filter second ... assume pump in sump so will soon fill filter case

hi, as far as I’m aware (and they were quite secretive with information) the rangers have a problem with the rear diff pinion shearing, normally under towing conditions. From what I could gather they ultrasonic test the pinion in situ and if it demonstrates flaws it gets replaced. I have to wonder taking in to account the human error of deciphering an ultrasound if many faulty ones get missed
yeh right ..... take it down the local radiology dept. and get it scanned :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO: for the cost of even a basic US you could swap out an awful lot of pinions, aside from the training element of an operator ... can't see how they could do it in situ .... scan head needs solid/firm contact with the test item:unsure:

My thoughts exactly. I have a feeling it’s a fob off to get you past the warranty period. Time will tell.
They remove the prop. Clean the end of the pinion and attach US device. The Ford dealership wouldn’t give me that information but a tech who works there told me. There are also dedicated dealerships for this recall. My nearest was in Essex and I’m based in Suffolk

Out of interest does anyone know what Ford treat the chassis with? I’d prefer to do mine myself as I think I’ll be more fastidious on my own car than they will be. Or does anyone recommend anything other than waxoyl? I keep seeing Lanoguard and owatrol oil advertised. Are these any good or is waxoyl still the preferred?

I think I’ve been on the list about a year and a half.

According to the transport driver they have enough vehicles on the waiting list it’s going to take another year or more to work through them all.

Must be reaching the point where it would be worth treating them properly in the factory  :ROFLMAO:

I'm wondering where you stand if they find no fault and then it fails outside of warranty ?

On your own I would suspect. Although a friend just had the cambelt fail on his 2016 Transit Custom. 80,000 miles, it had the cambelt recall (essentially looking at it through the oil filler cap from what I can make out) and passed that. Ford are now supplying and fitting an engine at no cost to him. So there may be some come back. After all they have admitted there is a defect by recalling them
