Many years ago the stone quarry in Tetbury had it's telehandler pinched and was used to drag out a cashpoint. The police thought it was an inside job, the workers were amazed it got as far as town and definitely didn't want to see it back

Yes done 50 years left school aged 14 in 1961 done 2 weeks work before my 15 birthday and paid stamps up until I was 65IIRC you're a good few years older than me though Bob

TBH I haven't taken a great deal of notice of the 'pre-cut off' point, for the change in entitlements, as it didn't affect me, but that is a significant difference ...
your contributions may have been lower, but for much longer and we both have to live in today's markets/prices.
were you on class 1, or class 2 stamp?
IMHDO neither are at a realistic level .. in fact a long way short of what'd be considered necessary
to all the rest of you guys .. go on the gov website and make sure your contributions're on track/adequate to get you full entitlement ... can always top up missing time ... if you're a couple of weeks missing from a year, you will lose the entire year, for the sake of a few quid to top the year up ... MAKE SURE YOU'RE UP TO DATE
