As you appear to have half a brain and maybe even take an interest in the subject before doing your training course, might I suggest you ring around a few farmers and see if they'll teach you the basics in return for some free labour? You'll learn much more that way, CPCS is pretty much just a bit of paper so that brain dead morons can call themselves skilled (despite all evidence to the contrary)

Telehandlers are about the only machine that farmers do get a bit twitchy about, H.S.E. got interested in them a while back and a few where fined for "lack of training" with new operators.
Fortunately there are plenty of training providers for agricultural telehandler and quite a few do N.P.O.R.S. as well so the ag route still sounds good (and the farm machines are a lot more lively to drive
)
