How to...put a hyd line to the rear of my dumper to tip a trailer

Ive a 7ton thwaites dumper 2006, its currently on a horse yard where my other half and daughter have horses 😫

Theres some tipping trailers there but no means of emptying them, other than dragging them to the muck heap with the dumper and off loading them by hand.

Soooo does anyone have any experience in putting a hyd line to the back of the dumper to run a tipping ram, Id thought about finding out which pipe on the block is the tip, putting a T piece into it amd running a line to the back, once the skips fully tipped it should give pressure to the trailer.

Or even tap into the side of the tipoing ram itself on the spare port 🤔

Looking for the most cost effective way to do it as its an un paid labour of love

You would then need to switch the engine off to lower the trailer as the dumper ram is double acting. I am sure someone here could design something better involving c tops and just tipping the trailer with the push of a button 👍

involving c tops
You`ve done it now mentioning cetops :ROFLMAO:

A 6 way divertor manual or electric, the up/down to the dumper tip rams in, and out on one position, in the other position one port to a pipe feeding tipping trailer, the other port returning to the hydraulic tank. In the first position on the divertor, the normal tip valve would tip/lower the dumper as normal, in the second divertor position the dumper skip wont move, but oil would be supplied to the tipping pipe, working the tip valve as if lowering the dumper skip, oil would be dumped into the tank, but would also allow the tipping trailer to come down, with its oil returning through the tipper valve, as if it was the oil returning from the other side of the double acting dumper ram.

It’s what I do!
Ok run a hose to the rear of the dumper from the tipping valve for the dumper, follow hose back from the top of the tipping rams, get some flat faced quick release couplings so you can easily unhitch the trailer and hydraulics, on the hose fitting on the dumper end fit a T piece run a hose up to a ball valve by the drivers seat, and from there back to a tank line, when the trailer is plugged in and the skip is down pull the skip lever back with the ball valve closed trailer will tip, open the ball valve to lower the trailer, close the ball valve or unhitch trailer and pipe couplings to use dumper normally! I’ll ask Druid to check my work👍🤭😊

Sounds good to me.. only problem I can see is lack of hydraulic fluid? But im just used to big trailers, ram might not be overly big on your trailer?
My dump trailer drains the oil on my tractor, I have to keep it over full to tip fully!

Yes just like that☝️☝️😁

spot on ... could also do it with a manual 6x2 diverter, but getting on for the price of a solenoid op., these days
leccy is easier as you can mount it remotely where ever you have the space for it and its respective pipe work (y);) finding the room for a manual may prove seriously tricky and much easier to just say ''Press the button to tip/lower the trailer"

or this

flowfit are getting expensive .. cheaper to buy from their ebay shop, than on line on their site

this is probably one of the best alternate prices for a 6x2 diverter ATM ... no case drain required on this one either - some do .. like the flowfit one above :(

sounds like an easy alternative to me ... assume you omitted to mention the feed to the rear is tee-ed into the skip down circuit, so when the rams're closed and dead ended the feed goes to tip the trailer? the trailer down Tee can be inboard of the rear QC, up to the lever seat-side ball valve and then to tank ... trailer descent can be moderated/controlled by the seat side ball valve lever dumping to tank

Hi good point well made, the tank on the dumper is a fair size to be honest, Id imagine 30ltrs plus

@Mick-the-fitter @V8Druid Ive kicked this round the garage for many a year, only just remembered I had it, wondered if it could be of any use for this 🤔

@V8Druid if you keep it full 🙈 2.60 a litre Ive just paid for some 😳
funnily enough, I filled mine the other day after I'd sorted the hoses and gear stick ... fortunately I have a full 205 and a few 25s sat about still, that came home from my workshop ... was about £180 a barrel when it was bought.
AND I also have a.n.other 200+ ltrs sat in the tank off the flail I bought some time ago, that had just had a full service including full oil change :giggle: .... most of that'll likely end up in the tank of the Deutz Hyd pack when I oil that up though
You got a jcb beaver pack? Tow it there then some quick connects job done haha
tank may be a tad small and is a two way issue again
