It's not classed as commercial bty hmrc so they killed off probably 75% of their potential customers ...tbf it's more our pathetic weight regs that needs sorting .

Seems to be a swing and a miss, thought the whole point of the original defender was a farm/utility/commercial vehicle, seems the grenadier is just a fancy, shiny, Chelsea wagon with some trick switches. It's more of a fancy overlanding vehicle

I thought the commercial variant qualified as N1?

It does but It means diddly squat as it doesn't qualify from HMRC. Plenty about it online.

Sadly that's probably all its destined to be...oh their all keen offroaders but in reality it's retired old buffs comparing difflocks and decoding which £7.5K winch they need...yes I visited the forum

Would assume they are taxed as a car if not commercial, no idea what the rates are these days plus over the 40k purchase price so a nice loading for 3 years on ved too

But supposedly a companies total vehicle emissions must be below a certain point. So if they can't meet it what are the repercussions??

Will probably have to rebadge someone else’s electric cars and sell them as Ineos to bring their average emission levels down I’d bet.

They have a smaller leccy "farm chariot" in the offing
Apparently idea is it will charge easily from multiple sources ,3ph and directly from wid turbine without chargers etc. Be interesting to see how it pans out. Apparently no nonsense basic traditional defender concept but leccy.

No idea think as long as it's a commercial lease
