I have unchecked mine too but it may take a few hours for the settings to go live.

Are you all getting emails even if you havent interacted with a thread ? Or just threads you've contributed to ?
If you goto this section : https://www.planttalk.co.uk/watched/threads you will see all the threads you are "subscribed" to, you can tick the box next to the thread and then go to "unwatch" or "stop emails".
I've also removed the option from Registration where it makes people watch all threads regardless of interaction. So you should only get emails to threads you reply to unless you've got it turned off in your settings :

I believe even if you have the above settings how you want them though, any previous threads in the watch list ( in the first link ) will still need to be stopped manually. Strange old setting for that to be default as no one wants to get notified of all threads
@Regy53 , Also as admin you can view the email log incase you ever need to by clicking on your username menu top right and going to email log. It shows you ALL emails sent out by the site so you can see how many is being sent out
