Yeah you need it
But depending on the l.a you might also have to apply to be on there approved list of contractors.

@Russell the Ctisc do cat and genny courses right next to the job you did for me a couple of years ago but as Smiffy says, it’s not very comprehensive. Some really good YouTube videos out there to further your education

Yes and no, apparently only one person needs it in the gang. Getting drop kerbs on your public liability can be a problem, all the years I've had insurance, none would cover it
