Hydraulic motor direction

do it as well as you can,but learn to do it better
or perhaps the speed control plate needs to be the other way, running in the opposite direction ????:unsure:

Do these hose connect directly to the motor? Or do they go through some sort of valve block?

this looks to be your motor .... looks to be another port on t'other side of the body for the case drain - L1

Just what I was going to ask? Thanks James😄
They normally run from the machine to a block which has a none return valve then to the motor. The case drain CAN be returned through this block, I'm pretty sure you will have it😉

non return valve or cross line relief valve ?? ...
without the CLRV the motor comes to a blinding halt the moment oil stops arriving in the P port ...
the CLRV allows the motor to spin down slowly by feeding the returning oil into the P port in a closed loop, at the CLRV, until the motor stops spinning and is no longer pushing oil around the loop .

Both, it has a non return valve in it too
well that explains why it won't do anything when MB reverses his flow at the machine.
doesn't really need an NRV with the reversible motor

my bet is on an adjustable CLRV
when I mounted Alex's Bomford up for his Mec, I achieved the CLRV by simply tee-ing a NRV into the lines, allowing the oil to flow in a closed loop from the motor's ports when P was no longer feeding the motor, until it ran down to zero rpm

P pressure kept the NRV closed, until it wasn't pressurised, at which point the closed loop operates ..... worked well

The feed and return run through the valve block, the case drain just goes directly to the digger.

It would as wouldn't like to change its direction at full chat with the weight and momentum of the rotor also in 2 way the return will be restricted through the valve block causing a lot of heat in the oil have machine set 1 way as return free flow back to tank as these flails run the machines and oil hard
