Dodging showers. Picked up this Iseki for the other half’s dad- he’s about to retire and this will be just the job for keeping his grounds tidy and him out of trouble!
Full service on it, changed all the fluids and filters but they had sent the wrong seals for the front hubs so couldn’t do any more.
Its high hours but looks well looked after. Cosmetic bits have been replaced at points- the pedal rubbers and floor mats are not what you would expect from a 2800 hour machine. The deck looks like it was used once. The deck came on a pallet with a load of other bits- it had a front links and PTO! On a little garden subcompact! I reckon it's been owned by someone like me, who wanted a high spec machine, used it well but looked after it. Little touches like the underneath hoses to the loader being routed in 1" suction hose to protect them. There's a muck fork as well as the bucket- he will spend hours moving bits of timber about
Anyway, her dad was never going to use the front links or PTO so I found a use for the links- on my larger Iseki. A tiny bit of grinding, a new hole for the side bolts and turned up a pair of bosses to take up the space (this chassis is narrower than the subcompact). Sadly the PTO wouldn't fit- couldn't get it to go past the front axle. Never mind, I have no use for a front PTO. Come to think of it I've no use for front links but there'd be no secondhand market for them over here on a subcompact. The labels were in German- over there you'd see this size tractor with a weedburner or brush on the front for pavement maintenance. Very rare over here however.
Then I got the SLR650 down from the mezannine. First surprise was when the battery had juice after two years in storage. Second surprise was when she started up after ten seconds of cranking. Third surprise was that a motorbike test place I've never used before had a slot at 12:30, fourth surprise was when she passed with just a front wheel bearing advisory.
After that I had to go and get a box of parts for the backhoe (no bushes though...). So I called in at the motorbike clothing store on the way past and spent more than I anticipated on some gear. I figured if I'm going to get a bigger bike I should have the right stuff. The jacket is proper nice, it has an airbag in it which senses when you have a crash.
