There’s actually just room for the forklift if required, but the Sherpa is ideal for 4ft lengths.

Anyhow she’s only indoors for something to do in shite weather. Quite pleased with the subframe, moved it painlessly in about ten minutes with two of us

Ah ok but be fun with a full length stick.
ive got similar conundrum with even less room so just mulling over options, at least its inside for storage. wouldnt mind a close up pic of how you welded the frame to legs.

Full length stick would be fine- I lifted the subframe into there no bother after all! Just use bolts and tack them down to the subframe- then you can lock the mill rails exactly where they need to be with a nut below and a nut above. Simples.

I can't hold a candle to that, but we too have been making timber into little bits of timber. Its been sore miserable here of late, so I moved the mill inside and we (or rather my guy, it's an easy one man job) are processing a lorry load of timber into tree stakes for a local forestry contractor. A nice wet day filler job, and keeping it local rather than importing from Lithuania. Whilst he was doing thus, I got my processor out to do a few free loads of slabwood for local friends- can’t bring myself to just burn it.

You may have seen in the news about the big hotel fire in Midhurst- it's really fked us with the road being closed plus the weather. All our 'dry' work is up the other side of the valley and we can't get there. All the stuff at the bottom of the valley is way too wet (see the trailer full of fencing gear!). PRICKS NEED TO HURRY UP, KNOCK THE BLOODY THING FLAT AND OPEN THE ROAD!!!!

Good job on those trees stakes. Imagine it's quite a fiddle? How much are you selling those at and what timber is it- I assume au natural and no treatment required?

Contract job- the forester suppliers the timber, we just cut

Yep - had that a couple of times - usually the second pic.
Most of the time everything works fine.
