I have noticed a SANY in the local scrap yard. I will ask next time on their thoughts.
It does strike me that scrap and demo machines are going to get high hours and probably battered!! So I can see the financial sense where bang out the work and residual is less important if you saved a wedge in the first place!

... building floors were never designed to take those sort of point loadings ... hopping down from floor to floor must be both exciting and impressive

They are not worried about what the floors are designed to take……..they are taking the building down FFS!!!!HTF did they get them up there FFS?

That is how the took some blocks of flats down outside Portsmouth years ago. This was before the massive demolition machines they have these days and they were not allowed to blow them up as they were next to the hospital.. Obviously being UK they were not as high. Not sure how they got the machines up to the top, but they demolished them a floor at a time and then crawled down the stairs. From memory, only one machine per building.Very...

Don’t know what all these demo companies are playing around at, crane a 25tonner ontop of the roof , track it around abit and let gravity do the rest.. maybe remote control it to satisfy the risk assessment.. done.

Had a sany rep phone me a couple weeks ago . He’s working direct for them not a franchise and looking for premises etc . Sounded serious . I liked him . Says they are serious about getting a grip locally in the highlands . More telling was the move away from franchises though .
