Can't believe how fkked this country and it's so called elites are out of touch ...never met anyone that thinks that allowing Albanians etc to float over at will is good. Not heard one alternative solution to governments announcement apart from it's all bad and anyone who agrees is a nazi . Mental. They are intolerant of tolerant discussions about intolerant tolerances.
I know there aren’t many Corbyn sympathisers on the forum , he might not of even got my vote but I have become aware of a pattern that keeps repeating itself in the uk and is now becoming the norm . in scotland we have had in the last 10 years Israeli lobby groups infiltrating society . Under the banner of friends of Israel . They actually had a stand at the market in inverness today . They are active in glasgow and Edinburgh for a few years . The tact seems to be to slowly build up various lobby groups (funded directly by Israel government) and once a foot hold is established they then attack any opposition to their ideals with anti semetic accusations . Our government has loads of mps in a group called conservative Friends of Israel and this lobby group is very clever as it also has labour friends of Israel ( hence Corbyns downfall) so it doesn’t matter who’s voted in , they have influence either way .
My point is that more recently this form of attack has been widely adopted so if you disagree , you are either racist , nazi, antisemite , or sexist , so much so that the majority are now a silent majority as they are scared of airing their views for a fair and just debate .
It seems ironic that all this week we have debated over linekar and the bbc . His colleagues rightly or wrongly coming out to support him , anyone disagreeing is a nazi all the while we are not discussing the actual bill that the government have put together

Well the BBC balls up has certainly made me laugh at how much spin is being put on the whole situation by different media groups.
Firstly, Lineker made the comment that the the language being used was like that of 1930’s Germany. He did not use the Nazi word would is how it is being almost completely reported.
BBC on Friday report he is being asked to step down until they can reach agreement on his social media use - that to me implies his current contract as a “freelance presenter” does not cover exclusions.
Early on Friday evening after his stepping down the Union that covers broadcasters say they have serious concerns about the manner in which he has been suspended. There follows a complete melt down in BBC sports department in support of Lineker.
All the left wing media are using this as propaganda to bash the Bill.
I have not heard one of the other presenters say anything about the Bill. Just that they support Lineker.
My take is this has become about the right to make statements rather than what he actually said. I am sure some support what he said but that is not why the walk has happened.

What is does show is how poor the decision making is within the BBC. The lack of understanding in HR Terms of how to negotiate changes to someone’s terms.

This is a tax payer funded organization that totally has no commercial idea. The fact Lineker is payed over £1mill for his job is a joke in its own right.

Time to stand down Mr Chairman and the DG. You don’t have control of your troops.

And bring back reading the football scores on the radio at 5pm on Saturday. Yes I can get them on the web, but not when I am driving home for a game on my own!!!

Better still disband the whole organisation

I respect your opinion on the druids doppelgänger ! but I don’t respect the way he was ousted . Our career politicians are now targeted when they are still at university by various lobby groups . It can’t be right that they can be influenced by such powerful lobbyists so early in their career .

Maybe we need a politics thread !! This is probably all a bit heavy for the make you laugh thread 🤣

Don't complain - suggest what's better
Quite amusing the BBC have said there were 500,000 extra viewers to match of the day this week when there was no commentary, just the football. Makes you think how much money they could save.

Quality 👏 i'd hazard a guess if there was an actual referendum right now on the dinghy saga the lefty twitter crowd would get a shock.
All comes down to the silent majority.

I don't disagree with Gary glit.... Sorry Linthinghys comment..... It is rapidly echoing the 1930's German era. And the reason Hitler rose to power was a thoroughly dissatisfied population, a fractured government, huge national debt and pandering to other nations rather than looking after the country itself.

Five years ago when acquaintances muttered about potential civil war I bit my tongue.... I'm about the least racist most tolerant person going in reality.... But even I am beginning to loose patience with the fact we are overly keen to help..... And that's not good.
